Jason Derulo’s “Talk Dirty (Ft. 2 Chainz)” single cover

Jason Derulo is many things but he has never been recognised as a sex symbol. However, as he branches out from Top 40/Mainstream territory and makes a play for Urban radio, he channels his inner Usher on a new song called “Talk Dirty”, which features 2 Chainz.

“I’m really excited about the single,” boasted Derulo. “It has a feature and I’ve never done that before. It’s just a shocking song. When you hear it, you’ll know what I’m talking about. People will be thinking, ‘Hmm, really?!’ It’s very out there, but it was so fun.”

Derulo will release his new Tattoos album on September 24. In addition to his own material, he will appear on girlfriend Jordin Sparks’ supposed comeback single, “Before it Breaks”. Listen to “Talk Dirty” below:

“Talk Dirty” isn’t horrible but it isn’t outstanding either. Rather, it’s quite forgettable and would have been a much better single for Usher, aside from the weakest verse of 2 Chainz’s career to date and the sloppy production. In other words, it’s just a typical Derulo song.
