It’s always sad when great artists lose their touch, especially when it happens to the very best of them. For instance, R. Kelly, Billboard’s most successful R&B/Hip-Hop artist during the period of 1985-2010, has released a new song called “My Story” and it’s unbelievably awful.
Featuring rapper 2 Chainz, “My Story” supposedly tells the tale of Kelly’s rise to fame but really only details his love of money, cars, clothes and models. In fact, he loves women so much that he happily “beats the pussy up; Django.” That’s right folks, Kelly just used a rap flow retired by Drake since 2011.
Kelly’s Black Panties album will arrive in stores later this year. However, judging by the quality of “My Story”, the record will likely be his second flop in a row, following 2012’s Write Me Back. Listen to his new song below:
