Da Brat looks a fool.

There must be something in the water that is preventing female Hip-Hop icons from returning to their former glory. Following the disappointing performance of Eve’s Lip Lock album and numerous attempts by Lil Kim at forging a comeback, Da Brat is trying her hand at success with a new video for “Is It Chu”.

Sadly, longtime fans of Brat won’t get the same excitement from “Is It Chu” that they got from her previous works. Instead, the video is a low budget affair and the first half of the song features some of the weakest lyrics by the woman who was the first female rapper to achieve a platinum album in the US with Funkdafied.

Da Brat relaunched her imprint Rare Breed and will release more new music later this year. Until then, “Is It U” has already been serviced to iTunes. Why? I have no explanation. Watch the video for the song below:
