Leaks are usually an artist’s worst enemy but in Mario’s case, this may be a blessing in disguise. Moments ago, the singer’s new video for “Somebody Else” appeared online ahead of schedule yet just in time to give the Nicki Minaj-assisted song some much needed buzz.

After a slow start, “Somebody Else” has finally started to gain groung on Urban radio and is currently ranked at #18 with almost 9 million audience impressions. Mario has yet to conduct any major promotion for the track and many of his fans wonder if there is any hope for a higher chart ranking.

Hopefully, Mario’s team will issue the “Somebody Else” video to his official VEVO page today so that it will benefit from the streams. As you should know, only audio and video on authorised accounts are tallied for the Billboard charts. In the meantime, watch the clip below:

Is there anything remarkable about “Somebody Else”? Well, other than Minaj acting as though Mario issn’t even there, the video is quite uneventful. It’s such a shame, though, because the opening scene could have been extended to form a better storyline.
