R. Kelly’s “My Story (Ft. 2 Chainz” single cover

R. Kelly’s Write Me Back album didn’t generate the impressive sales of his previous works – it sold less than 260K copies in the US to date – so he is switching gears with his new record. The racy Black Panties will be released later this year and will be preceded by the lead single, “My Story”, featuring rapper 2 Chainz.

“Dropping my new song featuring 2 Chainz on Monday [July 29]. This is #MyStory and I’m sticking to it,” stated Kelly on Twitter. The sudden arrival of the song explains why the King of R&B performed at the 2013 BET Awards during what appeared to be a refresher course in his talent for the younger generation of music fans.
