Is there any stopping Robin Thicke? In addition to having the #1 song on the Billboard Hot 100, sales predictions indicate that the singer-songwriter is on track to score the top-selling album on the Billboard 200 next week with the best sales of his career to date.
Blurred Lines is projected to nab the peak position on the Billboard 200 with 130-140,000 copies sold. Thicke’s highest debut figure to date was with Something Else, which entered the chart at #3 during the first week of October 2008 by selling over 137,000 copies and has yet to be certified gold by the RIAA. Additionally, his previous album, 2011’s Love After War, started with only 41,000 copies.
Meanwhile, Thicke’s hit song “Blurred Lines (Ft. T.I. & Pharrell)” currently rests in the top slot of the Billboard Hot 100. With over 207.4 million audience impressions garnered this week, it is now ranked behind Mariah Carey’s “We Belong Together” as the second biggest radio hit since Billboard began tracking airplay with Nielsen BDS in December 1990.
