Ariana Grande faced severe backlash from critics as well as the parents of her Nickelodeon fans when she revealed the first cover of her debut album, Yours Truly. So, the unoriginal singer backtracked by claiming that she was just “messing with her fans”, and unveiled the “official” artwork late last evening.
Yours Truly will be released on September 3 and will include the hit lead single, “The Way (Ft. Mac Miller)”. Grande stated that her debut is heavily inspired by the work of Mariah Carey (obviously), Amy Winehouse and Whitney Houston, and it channels the sounds of 1990s R&B music. In other words, the Daydream album.
