Ariana Grande basks in the limelight

Eager to hear Ariana Grande’s Yours Truly debut album before hits stores on September 3? Well, today is your lucky day because the current Queen of Tweens performed almost all of the included songs during the opening night of The Listening Sessions Tour at The Filmore in Silver Spring last evening.

With the exception of “Popular Song”, Grande effortlessly sang every Yours Truly track, much to the delight of her fans. Surprisingly, there were several adults in attendance who also couldn’t get enough of her vocal gymnastics and shorts bouts of choreography. Overcome with joy, one man even yelled, “You better work!”

Most evident from Grande’s Listening Sessions show and the content of Yours Truly were the similarities between her music and that of the 1990s R&B artists. It’s clear that her team is determined to bring the sound of that decade back to the forefront and judging by the reaction of the crowd, they just might succeed.
