Ariana Grande performs her hits

Before the 2013 MTV VMA got underway this evening, spectators on the red carpet enjoyed some entertainment from bright young stars during the annual pre-show. Among the performers was Ariana Grande, who playfully belted renditions of her hit singles, “Baby I” and ” The Way”.

Grande will release her Yours Truly debut album on September 3, so this MTV VMA appearance was the perfect way to further boost her chances of topping her biggest competitors, Tamar Braxton and John Legend. Yes, these certainly weren’t her best performances as admitted by the songbird herself, but at least she got some great promotion.
