Iconic vocalists Taylor Swift and Jennifer Lopez

Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey certainly never sounded like this. Yesterday, iconic vocalist Taylor Swift surprised her fans during the Los Angeles stop of her Red World Tour by bringing out Jennifer Lopez for a live performance of the vocal standard “Jenny From the Block” that left the crowd stunned.

Clearly trying not to outshine her young friend, Lopez scaled back her powerhouse voice as she glided through the octaves. It wasn’t very difficult from Swift to keep up, however, as she effortlessly harmonised and blended in so seamlessly with the music that it was almost impossible to discern the difference between her and the backtrack.

By the way, the legendary Swift recently set the record for the most sold out shows hosted at Los Angeles’ Staples Center, thus reaffirming her status as a true diva. Watch her and Lopez inform the world of their vocal supremacy on the Red World Tour below:
