Drake gets in touch with his feelings.

Just when it seemed as though all the music on his Nothing Was the Same album would be ego-stroking odes to imaginary street life, Drake has finally released a new song that is worth our time. “Hold On, We’re Going On” reintroduces us the part-time singer at his very best – emotional, inspired and focused on making great material.

Nothing Was the Same will arrive on September 17 and “Hold On, We’re Going Home” proves that at least one of the included songs will be of impressive quality. Yes, Drake is obviously channeling the style of The Weeknd on this cut but I prefer that to him pretending to be Kanye West or a young Jay-Z.

Feel free to delete “Started From the Bottom” from your iPod as you make room “Hold On, We’re Going Home”. Listen to the song below:
