With the exception of D. Woods, Danity Kane have reunited and their comeback countdown indicates that they have a special announcement ready for August 25. However, Dawn Richard is ready isn’t ready to give up on her goals for solo success and she has released a pair new songs, “Judith” and “Valkyrie”, to keep her dreams alive.
Having split with her longtime collaborator Druski, Richard instead teamed with producer Cronos on “Judith”, which was inspired by the Gustav Klimt painting of the same name “It’s the story of a painting that is priceless and quite iconic being forgotten after being hung in a home too long,” the singer explained.
“Valkyrie”, on the other hand, was crafted by Noisecastle III and features The Deonte. “I wanted a record that was packed with confidence,” said Richard of the song. “[It's] a sort of cocky reminder that you will remember my mark.” That’s nice but where is that Danity Kane music?
Both “Judith” and “Valkyrie” are now available on iTunes. Listen to both songs below:
