Katy Perry is supposedly “edgy”

With “Roar” currently charging toward the top of the Billboard Hot 100, many may have assumed Katy Perry would focus her energy toward ensuring that the song topples Robin Thicke’s ubiquitous hit, “Blurred Lines”. However, she has set her sights on another goal: scoring a success followup with either “Walking on Air” or “Dark Horse”.

Perry has teamed with Pepsi and MTV to give her fans the chance to pick her next Prism single. In one corner, we have the cliche club-oriented “Walking on Air” and it faces off against the far more impressive “Dark Horse”. The latter tune is thus far the only example of the darker sound Perry promised from Prism – hence the name – and the provided preview gives us a glimpse of what could be a smash for the upcoming fall season.
