Sometimes, it’s the thought that matters most, so you shouldn’t make any homeless or poverty jokes after watching Michelle Williams’ new video for “If We Had Your Eyes”. Featuring fellow former Destiny’s Child member LeToya Luckett, the clip was directed by Derek Blanks and carries a powerful message.
“If We Had Your Eyes” is based on the story of a homeless man who begged songwriter Al Sherrod Lambert for money and the supporting video tells the tale in a very literal fashion. Yes, as a photographer, Blanks focuses a bit too much on pointless glamour shots but it still doesn’t take away from the theme of the clip.
