Apparently, Santa Claus delivers presents as well as freedom papers.
For those of you who were previously unaware of JoJo’s legal issues with Blackground and the Da Family Records imprint, here is a quick recap: Her most recent album was 2006’s The High Road. Despite demand from her fans for a followup, JoJo was unable to deliver a set of new material, reportedly because of an ongoing feud with Blackground.
During the last eight years, communication continued to deteriorate between JoJo and Blackground, and in April 2013, she stated that the label had ended all contact with her. Meanwhile, she remained trapped on the roster.
JoJo finally launched a major lawsuit against Blackground in July and now, she is free.
Let us bask in the blessings of this day. Rejoice!
