Global Charts: ‘Watch The Throne’ Prevails

The Throne’s domination has gone global. The Hip-Hop supergroup’s ‘Watch The Throne’ LP has debuted at #1 on the United World Albums Chart by selling over 500K copies.

The album has sold 513K copies worldwide since being released on August 8th, which is more than double the 218K that Adele’s ’21′ sold at #2. Nonetheless, ’21′ has now moved over an extraordinary 8.81 million units in just 7 months and is expected to hit the 9 million mark next week.

Elsewhere, Amy Winehouse’s ‘Back To Black’ notched the #4 spot with another 121K copies sold, bringing its total figure to a whopping 12.52 millon. In addition, Lady GaGa’s ‘Born This Way’ has garnered over 87K in sales at #6 and a new total of 4.14 million.

    Only 513k worldwide? A little disappointing but considering their lack of real promo it’s alright. & bey needs to release a new single and get promotion done overseas already!
