Today was the big day for Beyonce and her cult of worshippers as the diva headlined the 2013 Super Bowl Halftime Show. Of course, she wasn’t alone as she rocked the most widely televised event on the planet alongside her Destiny’s Child bandmates, Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams.
The countdown has begun for Beyonce to party like it’s the end of time. For the majority of you didn’t purchase her 4 album, that was just a clever play on some of the record’s song titles. Why was that corny moment necessary? Beyonce will perform some of those tracks at the 2013 Super Bowl.
When Beyonce shared footage of her rehearsal for the 2013 Super Bowl Halftime Show, I joked that the scenes of her on a laptop were telltale signs of her surfing the web for inspiration from more original entertainers. Little did I know that I was right on the stolen money.
Beyonce received heavy flak for using a pre-recorded track during her performance of “The Star Spangled Banner” at the inauguration of US President Barack Obama. However, she reminded the world of her vocal ability by singing the song live at a Super Bowl press conference yet followed the shining moment with more untruths.
Beyonce has been working hard as she prepares for her upcoming performance at the 2013 Super Bowl Halftime Show. However, between tightening her choreography, and probably watching YouTube footage of past Tina Turner and Janet Jackson concerts, the superstar has shared rehearsal footage of the big event.
Forget about Jay-Z and Beyonce, a true power couple that once dominated the industry was Mariah Carey and her ex-husband, former Sony Music Entertainment chief Tommy Mottola. Indeed, although their time together has long since passed, the public fascination with the duo remains and Mottola enjoyed that attention on The Today Show.
You knew this was coming so don’t even bother to act surprised. Long before the mainstream media addressed the obvious, I was one of the few people questioning whether Beyonce’s performance of “The Star Spangled Banner” at the inauguration parade was live.
