Rihanna Talks About Being Role Model For Young Girls In Glamour

Isn’t she the same person who did an entire song about being excited by whips and chains? Rihanna didn’t just nab the cover of the Glamour magazine’s September issue; she participated in a lengthly interview where she discussed her influential role as a Pop star.

Read what the ‘S&M’ performer, who gives nightly lap dances on her ‘Loud Tour’, had to say below:

“I want to set the right example and, at the same time, live my life….I feel like pop stars can’t be rock stars anymore because they have to be role models, and it takes the fun out of it for us, because we just want to have fun with art.”

She didn’t say she wants to be a role model. Trent? seriously?

thats the problem with print interviews. people can take a simple comment and twist it around.

She was basically frustrated by the box pop stars are put in.

Thanks-@ Smokey for that link. I don’t put anything past her label. Role models don’t take pictures grabbing women breast and butts or as someone else said, giving lap dances.

She has a right to live her life the way she wants! if she wants to live like a rock star by all means do so, but when your brand starts suffering, and ppl dont turning against you, remember your ass wanted to be a rockstar!!! drinking, partying, dressing like a harlot and acting like one will only get your career so far!!!!

Uh… she didn’t say she wanted to be a role model, she basically said she wants to live her life, just like most 23 year olds… you’re scrapping the bottom of the barrel Trent.

Well, she didn’t exactly say she wants to be a role model, but since she’s talking about ‘setting the right example’,it can be taken like that. She’s NOT AT ALL a balanced role model, for Jesus’ sake.Infact, none of these currently hot popstars can be seen as a good role model, from Rihanna to Gaga to Beyonce.

Pop Stars and Rock Stars are two different things. A rockstar sings rock music and a pop star sings pop music. She needs to learn the difference, she is not a rockstar and needs to let it go. She also needs to stop trying to be a role model when it fits her.
