There are several perks associated with being a member of Knowles clan and Solange proved that with a major announcement earlier today. Without a major hit or certified album to her name, Beyonce younger sister has launched her own label, Saint Records, under the Sony Music Entertainment umbrella.
Kendrick Lamar is clearly the dominate go-to man on Hip-Hop music scene. Following the trend, Solange has teamed up with the rapper to feature on the remix of “Looks Good with Trouble”, which originally featured on her True EP, released late last year.
Beyonce isn’t the only member of the Knowles clan who happily sells her music to the highest-bidding company. The singer’s younger sister, Solange, has jumped on the jingle bandwagon by teaming with Refinery29 and Absolut Tune for the release of her new video for “Locked in Closets”.
The 2013 Costume Institute Gala, commonly known as the Met Gala, for the “PUNK: Chaos to Couture” exhibition is currently underway at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. As the fashion event of the year, the event has attracted hundreds of celebrities, including Beyonce, Madonna, Nicki Minaj and Katy Perry.
Aaliyah didn’t have the most powerful voice in music but her rich tone made her songs very difficult to cover. Unfortunately, Solange learned that the hard way at Coachella this weekend when she attempted to sing the late songbird’s “Hot like Fire” during her surprise set.

When Solange revealed the original cover for her True EP, I was rather confused as to why she made the cover so plain. However, to better represent her personality, she will be releasing a limited physical edition of the set and fans will be treated to revamped vibrant artwork.
It was commendable to see Solange put the effort into promoting her True EP with a string of live performances and even a video for the lead single, “Losing You”.
