The-Dream’s own music isn’t very successful but the material that he has crafted for other artists ranks him one of the most prolific hit-makers of the last decade. To commemorate his many accomplishments, Kelly Rowland surprised The-Dream with a special presentation on BET’s 106 & Park last evening.
Even the added powers of Beyonce, Jay-Z and Kelly Rowland couldn’t convince consumers to purchase a copy of The-Dream’s new IV Play album. Indeed, sales predictions indicate that the record is set to have a very slow start on the charts next week and an even smaller impact than Little Mix’s DNA.
The-Dream is surely taking the promotion of his IV Play album seriously, isn’t he? Despite little public interest in the project – none of the singles of charted on the Billboard Hot 100 – the singer-songwriter appeared on the latest edition of AOL Sessions to plug his music.
Now that Kelly Rowland has signed on as the newest The X Factor (US) judge, she won’t have the time to perform across as part of her Lights Out Tour with The-Dream. So, the dates for the venture have been rescheduled to facilitate her newfound relevancy in the media.
Following the debut of his new song, “Where Have You Been”, The-Dream has wasted no time in promoting the record with his duet partner Kelly Rowland. For the first performance of the tune, which appears on The-Dream’s IV Play album (due on May 28th), the pair visited The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.
The-Dream will release his IV Play album and in addition to his “Turnt” collaboration with Beyonce, the high-voiced crooner has joined forces with another Destiny’s Child member. Kelly Rowland appears on the Da Internz-produced “Where Have You Been”, which The-Dream describes as “signature R&B.”
