Katy Perry aims to for a record-breaking fifth #1 single from her ‘Teenage Dream’ album with the official remix of her latest release, ‘Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)’. Enlisting hit-maker Missy Elliott, the singer adds heavy bass to help her bounce to the top spot of the Billboard Hot 100.
Give the track a listen below:
Missy’s verse definitely ads a different dimension to the song but the knock of the bass is strikingly similar to formula used by Kanye West on the ‘E.T’ remix. Still, given the fact that many have not heard new material from Missy in quite some time and Perry is at a new career peak, this is almost a guaranteed #1 song.

This is selling out to a whole new level. Now, collaborations are done to get #1s (S&M remix and Till the World Ends remix), instead of being done for the love of the music. What a shame the mainstream industry is today.
I’d rather have a Missy single.
Its exciting to have missy elliot back this means we are closer and closer to new missy album! THATISALL
I love Missy Elliot’s part but does this song deserve the #1 spot? No it doesn’t.
I agree w/ most people here. Good to see Missy back but this bitch Perry is so desperate for having this #1 that she would do whatever it takes to achieve it.
