2012 Grammy Awards Nominations: Reader’s Choice!

Today is September 30th but it is just a regular Friday. In fact, this day holds special significance in the music industry – it is the official close of the eligibility period for the Grammy Awards nominations!
Artists from across the musical spectrum have had an entire year – since October 1st 2010 – to make an impression on their peers and now the time has come for the voting period to begin. However, before the list of nominees are announced on November 30th, we are giving you the opportunity to voice your opinion!

I hope Gaga gets nothing. That album was a huge dissappointment for something she proclaimed would be the album of the decade.
Umm…the only ones I agree with are Adele for Album, Song, and Record of the Year. And maaaybe Nicki Minaj for Best New Artist.
Adele will clean up, no question. However I believe there will be some surprises that are not on the above list. You didnt list many of the rock, pop, and even country artists who usually dominate these categories.
For the record Best Rap/Sung collaboration was discontinued as of last year. Alicia Keys and Jay Z are the final recipients of that award.

album of the year will either be Tony Bennet, Adele or Kanye’s Beautiful Dark Fantasy (since its one of the most critically acclaimed albums in modern music history)

Female Pop Vocal will be Adele
Kanye will win the most of the Hip Hop Awards either with Jay or alone
RnB will be swept clean by Beyonce.

She has a possible chance at being nominated for album of the year, but she has a slim chance of winning.

I think people are seriously underestimating the power of Gaga’s album. Remember she wrote all of her own songs which all have deep meaning about self-love and respect. Whereas adele’s albums is purely resultant from a bad break-up that makes me wanna cut myself (highly depressing) whenever I hear it. If you ask me Gaga should sweep this year’s grammys to make a big statement and honour a musician who truly understands the definition of equality and artistry. Gaga all the way for Born this way!!!

adele is gonna sweep the grammys, for best new artist everyone knows they don’t nominate more than one rapper and nicki is gonna steal that nomination but i’m really hoping jessie j gets nominated and wins.

I don’t now all the new artist out there, but I have heard a few. Some very good artist out here. As far as an artist that connects to the music and also has a unique style and an out of this world beautiful tone — Jackie Evancho. I suspect Jackie will not be recognized because I think lots of people think she is too young (10 OHN/DWN CD’s), now 11 and haven’t “paid her dues”. But we will see. I personally have never heard a more beautiful tone that Miss Evancho. The combination of a mature sound, smooth slow vibrato & vocal purity is so very rare and unique. Jackie is on of a kind.
