Katy Perry Selects Sixth ‘Teenage Dream’ Single

Katy Perry has already scored a record-breaking 5 #1 singles from her ‘Teenage Dream’ album but she is still eager pursue further chart success. In fact, the singer, who recently covered Australia’s Cosmopolitan magazine, will release the sixth single from the LP next month.
‘The One That Got Away’ has been chosen as the sixth single from ‘Teenage Dream’. Produced by Dr. Luke and co-written by Max Martin, the song will be issued to Pop radio in October.
Perry recently made history when she became the first woman to score 5 chart-toppers on the Billboard Hot 100 from a single album. Her accomplishment matched Michael Jackson’s longstanding record that was established in 1988 with his ‘Bad’ album.

Regardless of what song Perry chooses at this point, the momentum that she has created from her previous hits will almost guarantee that it succeeds. In fact, if ‘The One’ fails to claim the #1 spot, she could very easily land a hit in the top 10, particularly because of its mainstream appeal.
Still, I am quite eager for this era in Perry’s career to conclude because her music has been heavily promoted on radio for over a year and the material has begun to sound stale. Perhaps, she should take some time away and return late next year with a new album.

looks like she is trying to go for Whitney’s record next
Should have been “circle the drain”, its one of the best song on the album and sounds alot darker then alot of her other singles.
She is not the most talented or least talented person, but her music will never be considered a classic or will see ever win a Grammy. Controversy got her 5th#1 because the track is wack it need a Missy remix which was not on the original cd, therefore it shouldn’t be considerd a #1 single. I wonder what happens when this one stalls at 3–who will do the remix- Lil Wayne???

Actually Wayno, the week the song went number one the original sold way more than the remix which is why it didnt count as a number one for Missy as well.
I cant wait for her to get another consecutive number one and shatter records again!!! Sadly, but undoubtedly, she is coming for Mariah’s wig!
