Leona Lewis looked simply beautiful at the Closing Night Ceremony day 5 of the 2011 Doha Tribeca Film Festival at KOAT in Doha, Qatar last evening but it was her voice grabbed the attention of the patrons. The songbird took to the stage to perform a a full set that included covers of Bruno Mars’ ‘Grenade’, Seal’s ‘Kiss from a Rose’ and OneRepublic’s ‘Apologize’ that thrilled the crowd.
Coincidentally, JoJo also performed her own rendition of ‘Grenade’ earlier this week with a similarly bare arrangement. However, the final result was quite different.
Watch Lewis’ showing below:
‘Grenade’
‘Kiss from a Rose’
‘Apologize’
Lewis may not have the sass of Beyonce or the bright colours of Rihanna’s wig collection but the complexity of her voice is absolutely astounding. She makes everything sound so simple to sing when in fact most of her peers would probably kill for her talent.
