Rihanna’s ‘We Found Love’ barreled into the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100 last week and set a new record on the tally. However, despite continued growth, the track still fell short of toppling this week’s reigning champion, ‘Someone Like You’ by Adele.
‘We Found Love’ climbed from #9 to #7 on the Hot 100 with a 36% increase in airplay to 44 million audience impressions and 144K downloads sold. The track is the lead single from Rihanna’s upcoming ‘Talk That Talk’ album, which will debut on November 21st. The Pop star revealed the artwork of the LP yesterday.
Adele’s ‘Someone Like You’, on other hand, outpaced all contenders by ranking at #1 on the lineup for a 3rd week and has thus far sold over 2 million downloads. Meanwhile, her 4x platinum ’21′ album has moved another 112K units at retailers for a new total of 3.89 million.
Notably, a new record was set on the Billboard 200 this week that involved an unusually pairing of artists. Omarion’s title as the youngest male solo artist to enter at #1 on the chart with a debut album with ‘O’ in 2005 has been snatched by 18-year old ‘American Idol’ contestant Scotty McCreery whose ‘Clear as Day’ LP clocked the peak position with 197K copies sold.

Where is countdown? Lmao go Rihanna! !!
Wow, Last time I checked the Billboard charts, You and I was like #46, but that was weeks ago, like 5 weeks ago to be exact. I am surprised that song is #10 seeing as how ballads rarely reach the Top 10 anymore, but congrats to Adele. Someone Like You is a monster song and deserves to be #1 rather than another Pop/Dance song that sounds like everything else on Mainstream Radio
“We Found Love” is a horrible song, but, Rihs stans would buy a sack of shit as long as it has her name on it.
