Mary J. Blige’s promotional campaign for her ‘My Life II: The Journey Continues (Act 1)’ album intensified today when she visited ‘The Today Show’. The R&B icon performed the record’s second single, ‘Mr. Wrong’, while being back by her live band.
Blige previous performed ‘Mr. Wrong’ at the 2011 American Music Awards just ahead of the release of ‘My Life II’ on November 21st. However, despite the high profile appearance, the album is only projected to enter the Billboard 200 at #4 with 120K-140K copies sold.

That was yet another solid performance by Blige. Yet, the question regarding why her ‘My Life II’ album is off to such a slow start is still lingering.
This record is definitely an upgrade from ‘Stronger with Each Tear’ and Blige has engaged all the right promotional spots thus far but the sales of the album are quite grim by her standards. Hopefully, the pace will pick up as we draw closer to Christmas because this record deserves to be a hit.
Thanks Urban Music Direct!
Mary has been giving lovely performances for this album. I love “Mr. Wrong” and I can’t wait for her and Drake to perform it together one time. While I love this song, it’s too similar to Melanie Fiona’s “4 am”. Rico Love needs to get it together.
Although Mary’s been everywhere, she’s also been nowhere simultaneously (if that makes sense). Besides the AMAs and the Today Show, Mary hasn’t really been on anything major. She been doing small showings. She needs a big event to perform at in order for people to know that she has an album out.
