Christina Aguilera Readies New Single

Christina Aguilera has been afflicted by severe media criticism for her swelling figure and it appears that she has readied a clever retort to challenge those derisive remarks. In fact, the singer has channeled her emotions into an empowering new song that will be the long awaited lead single from her upcoming album.
KIIS FM has listed a new song from Aguilera entitled ‘Love Your Body’. Reportedly a booming ballad with radio-friendly production, the tune is set to debut within the coming weeks and will be cross promoted with the premiere of the second season of ‘The Voice’, which will debut on February 5th.
Aguilera’s previous album, ‘Bionic’, was a commercial disaster and has barely sold over 300K copies in the US to date. In fact, the record is currently ranked has her lowest-selling studio LP in that territory.

Hopefully, ‘Love Your Body’ would provide Aguilera with the career boost that she needs to regain her footing on the charts. Her recently performance of ‘Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas’ at the Disney Parks Christmas Day Parade demonstrated that she has finally taken the steps to salvage her voice and that she is obviously quite serious about forging a successful comeback.
However, Aguilera has to ensure that every aspect of her marketing is thoroughly planned. Indeed, as much as she may love her body and is proud of her figure – if that is truly what ‘Love Your Body’ is about – her wardrobe choices inspire ridicule instead of praise. Perhaps, she should take notes from her current muse Adele and avoid painfully tight clothing so that the focus of the public would remain on her voice instead of her stomach.

I believe it’s not a self-empowerment anthem; it’s a catchy, radio-friendly song about loving someone else’s body and pleasuring them. We don’t need another Beautiful tbh as critics will claim she’s so desperate she tried to recycle one of her signature hits.

Although a commercial disaster, Bionic is actually a great album. I wish that she and her team would’ve handled the promotion better. I hope that Xtina brings it in 2012 because I’m highly anticipating her return.

Christina does have a direction. She’s a Pop artist with a twist of soul/r&b she changes her look and style of music often which is a great thing.
@theman – Thats not really a direction, that is at best a brief description of her image. A lot more goes into direction; such as previous work, current status, future direction, transitions, sound(which has a direction component all on its own) and just a whole lot more.

Direction is just simply the lane an artist takes in a certain era of music. You are going somewhere else with it. Christina is more than just one style of music, thus she infuses a little bit of this and that. It’s not that difficult.
