Little Mix have already been riding on a wave of success since winning ‘The X Factor (UK)’ earlier this month. Their debut single, ‘Cannonball’ debuted at #1 on the Official UK Singles Chart and they have been in high demand in both the media and the club circuit.
Hence, it was no surprise that Little Mix were booked to perform on the ‘Top of the Pops’ Christmas special yesterday. The quartet sang a somewhat shaky rendition of ‘Cannonball’ for the packed studio audience as they capped a tremendous year.
Watch Little Mix’s performance below:
Little Mix are still a bit unstable as a group and have yet to find the right mix of notes to suit a proper harmony. Of course, that problem is typical of any band that only has one strong singer.
Hopefully, time and experience will mold Little Mix into the girl group that the industry so desperately needs. They may not be as confident as Misha B, who recently went viral with her SB.TV F64 showing, but practice and patience should greatly improve their sound.
This is a dry song but not bad on the vocals for their first time out. They sound much better than their run on X Factor UK.
I agree that the harmonies weren’t good, but it was by no means a poor showing. It’s just such a horrible song. Their two performances of Don’t Let Go on X Factor were so much better however, and their harmonies were completely on point.
Kween Perrie definitely owns all of their wigs, but the other three are decent vocalists and all have very nice vibrato.
Let’s be real Pierre is the best singer, but the others can definitely sing really well. I just don’t think this song is their style at all. I’m hoping the turn into the new Danity Kane in which all members, can and actually do sing.
Perrie – Vocal Beast
Jesy – Attitude, Vocal Sassiness
Jade – The stabilizer & second lead
Leigh-Anne – The Beautiful One (I think she was better vocally before “Perrie” was the chosen one).
Yeah, those harmonies needs extra work. But overall it was a decent showing. I’m not very fond of this song. I think that Little Mix needs to do more upbeat things cause clearly slow is not for them.
I’m not into girls group , i might be too old , but i will admit that they can sing .. But i don’t understand the name , if they ‘re lucky and have longevity , by the time they release their 3rd or 4th album , they’ll be young women in their early 20s called ” Little Mix ” , it sounds stupid .
