Did you know that Aretha Franklin has yet to achieve a #1 album on the Billboard 200?
Franklin has released 44 compilations, 40 studio albums, 4 live albums and even a soundtrack yet she has never landed any of her records at the summit of the Billboard 200. In fact, despite scoring 10 #1 albums on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums tally, the Queen of Soul’s highest-charting records were ‘I Never Loved A Man The Way I Love You’ and ‘Lady Soul’, which both peaked at #2.
On the Billboard Hot 100, however, Franklin accomplished 2 #1 songs from her record 73 entries on the chart. Of course, her most popular song was her Civil Rights anthem ‘Respect’.

Aretha is the first female to be inducted in the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame, and when Bill Clinton was President he made her voice a national treasure, not to mention regarded as the greatest female vocalist of all time… Those trump billboard IMO
oh boy can u imagine the abuse Aretha takes for not having a #1 album in the USA ( HER COUNTRY)….
Are people finally beginning to realize that first week sales and not having a number 1 album in the US is not the be all and end all?? I guess with all their other achievements peoples have to find something to try and bring them down. #thatrihannareignjustwontletup

Aretha may not have a nos 1 album but she is no Rihanna. Aretha is wayy more talented, and can be legendary on that alone, whiles with rihanna, you take away the nos 1 singles and there is nothing to her
To me having a #1 album proves nothing, I mean lots of people has had a #1 & look where they are today also majority of the albums that doesn’t even go to number 1 is good as shit!

wow! Such hypocrites on here. First they swear that having a US #1 album is the be all and end of a music career and now they find out that Aretha the Queen of Soul doesn’t have one there are excuses. Nobody is making a comparison between Retha and Rihanna as they are clearly in two different lanes but you can’t excuse one for not having a #1 album and slate the other.
