Did you know that 2011 was the first year since 1998 that Beyonce did not achieve a top 10 single on the Billboard Hot 100?
Including her work with Destiny’s Child and as a featured act on other artists’ songs, Beyonce scored a top 10 single on the Hot 100 every year since 1998 when ‘No No No’ peaked at #3 on the lineup. However, none of the releases from her ’4′ album managed to penetrate the upper regions of the tally in 2011.
So what was Beyonce’s highest-charting single on the Hot 100 this year? That title was nabbed by ‘Best Thing I Never Had’, which peaked at #16.

’4′ was the best album she never had…
Beyoncè’s promotional campaign ended back in August when she performed on the VMAs. Yet, her lucky number contained it’s staying power due to pre-filmed music videos and performances.
People need to realize that Beyoncè hasn’t had a top 10 hit since the release of the album. I love Beyoncè just like the rest of y’all but, 4 ain’t what critics caked it up to be. Beyoncè could be pissing on all of y’all and y’all would swear that it was rain from the heavens sent to replenish the earth. Urban radio panned that album as her weakest. Only stans praised Beyoncè for releasing such “mature” content. There’s nothing mature about rocking on ya baby, putting love on top, counting down, or partying. In terms of lyricism, the I Am…is way much more romantic and y’all bitches hated that side of her. She done “killed off” Sasha so now on 4 is was just a mess.
The stans already knew that thank you very much. No point in being mad when we established this fact MONTHS ago. It’s also her first album to go #1 WITHOUT a top 10 single.

Why does she always have to try to be an artist? It should come naturally and she should have something to say. She doesn’t and its all manufactured.
I still think the I AM side of IASF is the closest bey is gonna get to a classic album. With 4, although she sounded great, the songs come off as forced as though she is trying to make them classics rather than it just happening over time.
Whats more amazing that she had a top 10 single since 1998 and 2011 was the only year she didn’t, now would your faves have a top the billboard charts for over 10 years? *crickets* I’m so proud of you Beyoncé, this proves that you are a name to be reckoned with, you name sells alone!!

The crazy thing is I love this album, this is my favorite Bey CD. It started off bad with the lack of promotion, for some reason I feel she got pregnant to take attention off of the poor promotion and lack of sales…shrug shoulders…
Don’t worry. I’m sure she’s somewhere writing a song about “thought I wouldn’t sell [my fifth album after '4' didn't do well]…sold 9 million”. Though I sincerely hope she stays away from the antagonistic train.
’4′ was a good album. Definitely showed some growth. There’s really no need for alternate personalities a la “Sasha Farce”. I hope she continues to create just to create because that’s what artists do.
I mean, you don’t see Sade sweatin’ about sellin’ HUGE when they have a new album out. They just make it do what it do and guess what, the fans support and love their work.
I actually don’t see why stans would be mad about this post. I’m a stan and I think it actually highlights that she’s been successful since 1998. That’s a compliment! No need to assume everything is shade.

She’s such a failure. That album was trash and everybody knew it. If it wasnt none of the singles would’ve needed any help getting success. AND the dumb bitch couldnt even get 2 Grammy nominations for this piece of trash like her last horrible album= FAIL. Oh and my fave has actually had top 10 hits EVERY year since 1998, including 2011, Bey cant cause people realize how horrible of a musician she is. Thats all there is too it.

LMAO!!! ya’ll are hilarious………. but in my opinion, 4 was a pretty good album. But honestly, I definitely think that Matthew not being her manager this time around really plays a part in the fact that the sales are generally poor.
