Did you know that before launching his own solo career, Ne-Yo was once a member of a boy band and was notoriously booed at the Apollo?

Prior to become a noted songwriter and solo act, Ne-Yo started his career as a member of Envy – an R&B quartet in which he operated using the alias GoGo. However, the band disbanded in 2000 and he was quickly signed to Columbia Records before being dropped and then picked up by Def Jam via the guidance of Jay-Z.

   They were booed at first, but they finished their song and got an applause afterwards. So they weren’t really booed off stage.

   But Neyo…..man fashion in the 90s was not IT!
