New Video: Jessie J – ‘Domino’

Jessie J has been heavily promoting her latest single, ‘Domino’, for months without a video so it was quite surprising that she debuted the accompanying visual earlier today. Directed by Ray Kay, the clip follows the previously released live montage of performances that premiered via VEVO in October and even was ranked on Vh1′s Top 40 Videos of 2011 list.
However, the ‘Domino’ video isn’t the only production that Jessie J had planned for her fans. Indeed, the rising diva will serve as a coach on the upcoming season of ‘The Voice (UK)’ where she will compete against will.i.am, Tom Jones and Danny O’Donoghue to find the next star.

Clearly filmed in front of a simple green screen, this video fulfilled its role of capturing the bubbly and colourful essence of the track. Yet, since ‘Domino’ has been available for almost five months so it is highly unlikely that this clip would do anything to boost the chart impact of the tune.
This has truly been a tremendous year for Jessie J. Although she did not score major chart success in the US, she stil achieved key visibility at several shows, such as ‘The X Factor (US)’ and ‘Vh1 Divas Celebrates Soul’, which have laid the foundation for her next project to be better received.

I think this video could push the song higher because right now ‘Domino’ is No.28 on billboard 100 chart. It jumped 10 places up from last week. This could be a slow burning hit for her. I think America are slowing catching on to her and it shows with her sells. She has been doing really well this year because her name has global appeal. Australia,France and Germany love her sound.

i have a feeling she didn’t have time to make a proper video which why it all done in front of a green screen.
The video is cute but a bit late in my opinion. I don’t know about the general public but I’m slightly sick of the song at this point because she performs it at every other event that she’s at. I think it’s time to retire this song and come with another one.
