The ‘Vh1 Divas Celebrates Soul’ concert will air on December 19th at 9pm ET and it will feature showings by Mary J. Blige, Jessie J, Jennifer Hudson and several other powerhouse singers. Although ‘Vh1 Divas’ never quite matched the brilliance of the 1998 flagship show, the series gave us several memorable moments that exemplified what it really took to be classified as a diva – talent. The diva title is so recklessly used these days that acts such as Rihanna, for instance, have been foolishly compared to the greatest artists of recorded music because of a handful of hits. Yet, thanks to the power of YouTube, the younger fans have the opportunity to see the true definition of diva, whether or not they are intelligent enough to understand it.
