Ashanti Handles ‘The Woman You Love’ In Atlanta

Ashanti has started the promotional campaign for her long awaited comeback and the first major show that she attended was Tom Joyner’s Sky Show in Atlanta. The R&B singer delivered a rendition the lead single from her new album, ‘The Woman You Love’, and actually managed to outperform the record version of the tune.
Unfortunately for Ashanti, ‘The Woman You Love’ has yet to chart on the Billboard Hot 100 since being released to iTunes on December 15th. Watch her rendition of the song below:
Ashanti definitely delivered with this performance and sound far better than she did on the track. Yes, she benefitted from a backtrack that handled the majority of the high notes and the reverb on her mic vastly augmented her voice but this was a solid rendition nonetheless. If only she could apply the same tricks to the Billboard charts then maybe the song would make an impact.

Decent performance but she needs background singers to cover the parts that she can’t.
She also needs to film a video for this song and premiere it on 106 and Park or MTV Jams as the jam of the week because at this point not many people are aware of this song’s existence.
I want her to succeed but she needs to get the ball rolling.
