When Simon Cowell boasted about pulling out all the stops to make Melanie Amaro a star he clearly wasn’t joking! In his continued bid to develop the winner of ‘The X Factor (US)’ into a certified hit, Cowell has teamed with Pepsi for a new ad featuring Amaro and the legendary Elton John that will air during the Super Bowl.
Amaro performed a Dance-themed update of the Soul classic ‘Respect’, which was popularised by Aretha Franklin, in the ad as John observed with enjoyment. In fact, her rendition of the tune was so good that John confidently stated in an onset interview that she will be a success.
Super Bowl XLVI will air live on February 5th. The massive television event will also include a 12-minute performance by Madonna, Cee Lo Green, Nicki Minaj, M.I.A. and LMFAO.

DANCE QUEEN!!!! Her version of ‘Respect’ SLAAAAAYYYYYYYYED!
I’d forgotten about Melanie, this ad will definetly blast her back into our memories.
And Elton John!! Total Legend!!!!
Yassss!!!!
The material is the key. If she’s more Leona than Riyonce, then she’ll be a one-album wonder.
She Rocks!!!,my family and I have been listening to Melanie every day on you tube, today after listening to this we were in awe, hope Simon will take care of her like his ownself, she is a jewell, well done Melanie, well done Simon Cowell.
Wait…..Where is Melanie’s accent?????????????????????????? -___________-
@Britt, On 106 and Park, she said that she taught herself how to “turn” it on and off because people would make fun of it.
I’m not too sure about remixing “Respect” into a dance song but whatever floats their boats.
Melanie needs to be drinking Diet Pepsi (hint)
@Dom ohhh ok, she seems so conflicted. Poor thang lol
She is going to fade away after her first album like the other big voiced singers that no one gives a fluck about… at least she gets/got $5 mill which is way more than I have.
