Nicole Scherzinger has been public enemy #1 since she played a decisive – or should we say indecisive? – role in ‘The X Factor (US)’ contentant Rachel Crow’s removal from the series. Hence, it was quite unsurprising when it was announced that she has decided to quit the series.
According to E! Online reports, Scherzinger chose to leave ‘X Factor (US)’ so that she could focus on her imaginary music career and her perpetually delayed ‘Killer Love’ US release. Her decision to exit the show was accepted by media mogul and fellow judge Simon Cowell.
However, Scherzinger wasn’t the only personality to depart from ‘X Factor (US)’. Host Steve Jones has also exited the series but it appears that it wasn’t his decision to leave. In fact, as reports indicated, he was aptly fired.
Read what Jones had to say about his’X Factor (US)’ below:
SteveJones I wont be hosting next seasons XFactor which is a shame but I cant complain as I’ve had a great time. Good luck to everyone on the show. 1/30/12 8:31 PM |
Really, who did not see this coming? It was blatant obvious that the viewers of the show disliked Scherzinger since early in the season and her role in Crow’s dismissal simply made the situation worse. Additionally, her nonsensical bits of advice, which included references to rainbows, love, light and the ridiculous “this song gave you wings” statement that she said after every good performance definitely annoyed Cowell.
Still, Scherzinger needed the ‘X Factor (US)’ to help her make an impact in the US and now that she has left the show, it appears that her final lifeline is gone. Maybe she should just rejoin the Pussycat Dolls because she actually sold records as their only lead singer.
Let’s see who will replace Scherzinger on ‘X Factor (US)’. My vote is for Kelly Rowland because she did a terrific job on the UK version of the show and she needs a platform in the US to save her career launch her next album.
For those of you who want Mariah Carey to join the ‘X Factor (US)’, I respectfully decline. She is simply too big of a star and the demands of her upcoming project, which is a major turning point in her career, require her full attention. Hence, a simple mentorship and a week of performances in her honor would be ideal.
