Did you know that Aaliyah performed ‘My Funny Valentine’ on the popular talent show ‘Star Search’ in 1989 and lost?

Aaliyah, the niece of Soul singer Gladys Knight, sang a rendition of ‘My Funny Valentine’ when she was only 9 years of age but she lost. However, the minor setback did not stop Aaliyah, who was later signed to Blackground Records when she was 12 years old and subsequently released her debut album, ‘Age Ain’t Nothing But A Number’, when she was 15.
