2012 BET Honors: Performances

The 2012 BET Honors were filmed since January 14th but the ceremony only aired this evening. The historic event featured tributes so legendary figures from the various fields of the arts and culture, including Stevie Wonder, Spike Lee, Maya Angelou and Mariah Carey.

Among the featured performers were Kelly Rowland, Patti LaBelle and Ledisi, who celebrated the careers of the honorees with moving tributes. Watch the full show as well as select performances from the BET Honors below:

   I cannot with Patti singing Hero to Mariah!!! These are LEGENDS not the fuckery that today’s are topping the charts.

   Such an emotional performance and for those who didn’t believe in Kelly…. girl shut your damn mouths!!! Love the performances!!!! Queen Mariah must be proud

   Congrats to all the honourees!! They’re well deserving of it These are the people that the youths of my generation should be looking up to and try emulating. Class, Dignity, Humbleness, Sophistication, and the list goes on, NOT this foolishness that’s being protrayed nowadays

   THANK YOU Trent! None of these other blogs are posting anything on the BET Honors and this is the most positive piece of news we have right now. We can always count of you! Of course my Mimi would be last, but we always save the best for that place. She looked amazing. Roc and Nick were cute, Kelly did better than I expected, and Patti almost made me cry! Beverly Kearney was truly an inspiration. Stevie is and always will be a legend. Spike doing his thang. LOVED the poem tribute to Miss Maya. I loved how each woman spans different generations- young and old. Tuskgee Airmen finally getting their shine, it was just amazing!

    LOL you must feel dumb as hell for tearing down Kelly Rowland when she was chosen to do Mariah’s tribute! Kelly KILLED it.
