Despite clearly being shaken by the passing of their idol, Whitney Houston, Brandy and Monica focused their attention on continuing her legacy through music. In fact, the duo appeared on ‘The Tonight Show with Jay Leno’ last evening to perform their joint single, ‘It All Belongs to Me’, and the influence of the icon on their work was obvious.
Monica sported a shirt printed with Houston’s image and called out to the singer shortly after using the vocal run that she “borrowed” from her. Meanwhile, Brandy softly sang Houston’s name as part of the arrangement.

‘It All’ is more exciting live than on record but the lines referring to Facebook and Mac truly ruined the tune. Still, it was fantastic to see Brandy performing on television after such a long time and hear her sing like such a boss! By the way, Monica was good as well.
Brandy looks beautiful. I still don’t dig the song and the facebook and mac reference is just rachet.
I don’t understand why writers don’t realize that. Product placement is tacky and dates everything. Even Melanie Fiona’s “It Kills Me,”- “call this chick, start some shit, and then hang up” it just kills the song.
Both ladies did a lovely job and they looked lovely as well especially Brandy. I’m glad to see that they’re pushing forward after losing Whitney. They made Whitney proud.
Monica killed it!
this song blows monkey guts..and I LOVE brandy and mo, it is what it is
Monica went to the heavens & above with those flawless runs, both of them did a great job though.
Come on Monica and Brandy! Loved the performance, two class acts with vocals!
i loved Monica voice in that song……. and Brandy has REALLY improved live
