Yesterday, rapper Lil Wayne announced that Christina Milian had joined the Young Money team and perhaps by complete coincidence, a new song by the singer has been released. The Reggae Fusion-styled ‘Mr. Valentine’ has surfaced just in time for Valentine’s Day but there is no word if the song will be included on Milian’s upcoming album.
Listen to ‘Mr. Valentine’ below:
‘Mr. Valentine’ would have been much better if Milian didn’t imitate Jamaican twang throughout the song and production wasn’t complete rip off of StarGate’s work on Rihanna’s ‘What’s My Name?’. Yes, the tune is incredibly catchy but there is nothing about it that would help it to standout amongst the wave of other Pop tracks on the airwaves.
Regardless of her missteps on ‘Mr. Valentine’, I am eager to hear what Milian crafts for her new album. She has all the elements to be a star in today’s music market and all she needs is the right material.
Thanks RnB Xclusive!

It’s okay. Not very good comeback material.

It just seems like her songs always lack that umpth. She needs a super catchy pop tune.
