Monica’s Mellow NCAA Fina Four Anthem Performance

Monica performs the 'Star Spangled Banner' at the NCAA Final Four.

The NCAA Fina Four match between Kentucky and Louisville was kicked off by a mellow rendition of the US national anthem from Monica. However, don’t expected to be bowled over by a round of high notes. Rather, the singer delivered a very mellow showing.

Instead of imitating her fallen idol Whitney Houston’s vocal acrobatics, Monica stayed within her comfort zone throughout the song. Watch her subtle yet solid performance of the ‘Star Spangled Banner’ below:

   Monica is such an excellent vocalist. I wish she would leave her comfort notes and show those excellent vocals.
