New Video: Miguel – ‘Arch & Point’

Miguel channels Prince in his 'Arch and Point' video.

Miguel has never hidden his admiration of Prince but it seems his love for the icon borders on obsession. Indeed, in the video for his new song, ‘Arch & Point’, Miguel looks as though he just exited the set of Prince’s ‘Purple Rain’.

‘Arch & Point’ appears on Miguel’s recently released ‘Art Dealer Chic, Vol. 2′ mixtape. The other songs included on the 3-track set co-produced by Fisticuffs and Troy NoKA are  ‘…All’ and ‘Broads’.

Miguel has often been compared to Prince and accused of imitation so this ‘Arch & Point’ video won’t help him to avoid such claims. Yet, at least the song is a fantastic R&B record and he sounds great singing it.

   This is not R&B this is more alternative pop than R&B and Dawn Richards passion in motion video comes to mine here.

   I was waiting for this song to “explode”, it didn’t but still is a good song and Miguel’s vocals are so lovely. Love his funky attitude! Werk!
