Nicki Minaj’s Odd ‘American Idol’ Performance

Nicki Minaj performs 'Starships' on 'American Idol'.

Nicki Minaj hit the stage on ‘American Idol’ this evening but her performance of ‘Starships’ crashed and burned. The bubbly rapper was seemingly lost during the set that was intended to promote her upcoming ‘Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded’ album.

‘Roman Reloaded’ will hit stores on April 3rd. The record includes several songs that have already been released, such as ‘Champion’, which features Drake, Young Jeezy and Nas.

So, what exactly were we supposed to discern from this performance? Minaj looked utterly confused during this segment and her stiff attempts at Latin dance were just pitiful. Remember children, say no to this Minaj!

   I don’t really like this Nicki. She’s just not doing anything for me. Another thing that kind of annoyed me were the dancers. I didn’t expect any kind of dancing drama from Nicki but if you’re going to go out of your way to hire back up dancers, you might as well have them do some decent coreography. They were just hopping around and acting a damn fool. I love the old Nicki from the mixtapes and Pink Friday, hell, I’ll even take Nicki from the “Dance (A$$)” music video but this “Katy Perry of hip hop” thing she has going on is getting pretty old.

    The set was straight, the dancers were good. But to me it felt like a Katy perry performance. some parts of the song she looked lost.
