Sales Predictions: Madonna’s ‘M.D.N.A.’ To Top Billboard 200

Madonna’s ‘M.D.N.A.’ will top the Billboard 200 next week, at least according to the initial sales predictions. In fact, the record is currently on track to sell north of 300K copies by Sunday (April 1st), which marks the end of the sales week.

Released on March 26th, ‘M.D.N.A.’ is projected to see 300K-350K copies by April 1st. If the figures are accurate then the album will become Madonna’s 8th chart-topping LP on the Billboard 200 and 5th consecutive #1 studio release following 2008′s ‘Hard Candy’, which sold 280K units in its 1st week of availability.

‘M.D.N.A.’ was preceded by the singles, ‘Give Me All Your Luvin’ (Ft. Nicki Minaj & M.I.A.)’ and ‘Girl Gone Wild’. Madonna promoted the project with a massive performance at the Super Bowl XLVI Halftime Show where she hit the stage alongside Nicki Minaj, M.I.A, LMFAO and Cee Lo Green.

   why is this a surprise the charts love veteran Artists in their openning week it’s the weeks after that are crucial and this will be Madonna’s 8th #1 album of her 12

   She’s lucky to have pre-sales added in because Lionel is selling better than her on amazon and other places. I don’t think she will sell as many as predicted. HDD was wrong last week when they showed Adele ahead of The Hunger Games.

   Why is she lcky to have the presales added… those are copies sold that go agaist the 1st day of sale. It’s part of the sales.

   PS really shocked that Lionel Richie is selling even 1 copy. REALLY WHA THE HELL ARE THE AMERICANS LISTENING TO?
