Ashanti Gives ‘Jimmy Kimmel’ Some ‘Love’

Ashanti performs 'The Woman You Love' on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!'.
Now that Ashanti will have to face both Justin Bieber and Nelly Furtado in a chart battle for the #1 slot on the Billboard 200, she has kicked her promotional campaign into high gear. The first stop in her renewed quest for the top spot was on last evening’s episode of ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’ on which she performed ‘The Woman You Love’.
Bieber announced on ‘The Voice’ last evening that his ‘Believe’ album will hit stores on June 19th. Furtado will also release her ‘T.S.I. (The Spirit Indestructible)’ LP on that date, thus challenging Ashanti’s ‘Brave’ in the race for #1 on the Billboard 200.

Ashanti did well in this performance but she will need to do more than the occasional television or radio performance if she hopes to outsell Bieber and Furtado. Honestly, it is almost impossible for Ashanti to compete with the label resources that Bieber has at his disposal so she should probably consider changing the release’Brave’ again.
Yes, some of her supporters would insist that a #1 debut on the Billboard 200 for Ashanti isn’t a necessity but there is no denying that it would be a great addition to her comeback story. Hence, pull the release of ‘Brave’ up or push it back by a week.

Ok, she def killed that performance. Not a fan of that single at all and I don’t think performing that particular song will sell her any extra songs. She needs to hurry with a better single to perform to the masses bc this one does not cut it for National TV.
She should get some backing singers, it add something i think is missing. I hate hearing people duet with their own backing vocals.

As much as I like this song and as good as she did, I feel that it is way too late to try to make this a hit. She needs to release a new single.
Everybody is so lazy now-a-days! I feel like she is just going through the motions by performing this song that has been out since 1900. She needed to have performed this in addition to a new single or at least mentioned a new single. No Twitter shoutouts or anything..just a random performance.Everyone that was there probably forgot that they saw her in concert by now. Step it up Ashanti! I’ll be buying Braveheart but who’s to say that EVERYONE will? The Beliebers are crazy so you got some stiff competition.
I LOVE this song and Ashanti but girl you need to release a NEW single. I hope her next live performance is a new single off the album.
