As Lauryn Hill’s devoted fans continue to wait for her return to the music scene, the troubled Hip-Hop/R&B icon made a rare appearance at theĀ Indigo2 in London. Yet, unlike the noisy shows that she has become notorious for delivering in the last few years, Hill put forward an impressive concert.
Among the songs performed by Hill were ‘Lost Ones’, ‘Superstar’ and ‘Nothing Even Matters’. Try to overlook her whacky ensemble and songs arrangements as you watch her set atĀ Indigo2 below:
‘Lost Ones’
‘Ex-Factor’
‘Superstar’
‘Nothing Even Matters’
‘I Used to Love Him’
Hill’s voice is not as rich as it was during the 1990s but she still managed to put forward a good show. It is incredibly disappointing that she hasn’t focused on crafting a new album because the demand for her material is still high after all these years. Indeed, if there is one person who could help revive the R&B genre., it would be Hill, whose work I praised in Trini Trent TV: Why R&B Artists Fail:
Would you purchase a new album from Hill? With which artists should she collaborate for the record? Let us know in the comment section!
Info via Soul Culture!
I would purchase a new album from her. She should collaborate with Erykah Badu.
I WAS THERE!! SHE WAS AMAZING!!
She should pen down new songs about her experience and people would love her more for coming out clean and honest.
She should make in an interesting mix of soul and maybe a bit of electronic feel. Rock is NOT for her…her voice is really rough and paired with a rough sound it becomes plain aggressive just like her shows. I need her to go back to being feminine!! She moves like a 24 freight trucker…i can’t! it hurts me to see her like that…more so than the outfits…i need Lauryn to come back with an album entitled “softly healing” or “whisper the pain away” or “still” i can help her write it!
Lmao @ whisper the pain away, that would be such an ironic title, but I don’t agree I think at this point unless she can surpass the last album, its not worth the attempt.. The critics are waiting to eat u up ms. Hill
i think its a mistake to always expect the same thing from artist… they are all human and go through things..if you really loved the miseducation album and it did something for you then you can look at Hill as the human that she is and receive her new effort as that.. who she is today.. she is obviously not the hill we first loved but hey… i d still check out the record..i wouldnt go see her live tho unless she cleaned up her act and acted normal…
i agree with the above statement. Ms. Hill created a masterpiece with her first album. Something that ALL generations of R&B look to as a musical Bible. Now all we ask OS that she goes back to this Bible and reference from it when creating another album. Ily Hill and thank you for your
I was there and had an amazing time! Lauryn still has it! That Ex-Factor performance was amazing “Where you going with my love? Where you going with my heart” Loved the little bit of My Love is Your Love too! Lauryn you’re amazing! Keep wearing all the wacky outfits, and just come back to us!
there is an effort to make her look crazy hen cause i cant find no video live online that will encourage me to go see her live.. i love her but i m scared.. she needs to fire her media team…or hire one…
I was there too and I’m so happy she put on a good show. I did feel that she was feeding the crowd with her energy and not the other way round
@MsJJ Yes! After queuing and waiting around for hours, my legs were killing me when she finally came on! I soon forgot about the pain when she started playing! LOVE YOU LAURYN!
i would buy her new album, i would love to see her work with Mariah Carey, Lil’ Kim, & others
You didn’t know she announced that she’d be releasing a new album this year? Smh. It’s titled “The Return”.
