‘Captain Fantastic & the Brown Dirt Cowboy’ entered the Billboard 200 at #1 in June 1975 as the first album in the history of the chart to achieve that feat. To date, the record, which was John’s ninth studio set and sixth chart-topping release, has been certified 3x platinum in the US.

The highest charting single from ‘Captain Fantastic’ on the Billboard Hot 100 was ‘Someone Saved My Life Tonight’, which peaked at #4. Watch John perform the tune below:
