Did you know that Leona Lewis’ ‘Bleeding Love’ was the first single to sell 3 million downloads in the US during a calendar year?
‘Bleeding Love’ was released on December 18th 2007, and sold over the 3 million downloads between January 1st 2008 and August 17th 2008 as the first song in US history to achieve that feat. To date, the tune has sold over 4.3 million digital copies in that country.
Additionally, ‘Bleeding Love’ held the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100 and was the third debut single by a UK female artist to top the tally. Moreover, the tune was ranked as the #2 most successful track on the Billboard Year-End Charts and #17 on the 2000-2009 Songs of the Decade list.

Now if only her next single will be as big! Hurry Up Leona we’re waiting!!
hasn’t matched that song yet. one hit wonder
I used to go off to this song. Vocally, lyrically, musically, this song was so great. She needs to do material like this on her new album.
I know one thing Jesse McCartney wrote the song and I know his checks looked beautiful. I heard his version and I like it,.
She is Mariah Carey
^^^ Quit it. The absurdity…
She’s amazing and Bleeding Love a masterpiece! Can’t wait for Glassheart <3
Leona set a trend for British artists which has continued with Adele/Jessie J who both went to The Brits school like leona…would love a duet with either of them with leona…
Hurry up leona we want next single and Album!! cant wait
@KRAY Apparently “Trouble” is said to be bigger than Bleeding Love and most of her new work has been getting rave reviews from critics who’ve heard it so far.
That’s why she’s taking so long with this album. She had good material for the original release but knew she could do better and decided she still wanted to do more recording and make the best possible album she could. I’m also guessing Adele’s success reminded her there’s still a place for her kind of music, it just has to be amazing and emotionally driven, which Echo lacked with the general public imo. She wants this album to her best yet and wants it to be remembered and apparently it’s going that way so far.
I really feel like if the material is stronger this time around and her team really promote her, she can be back on top again and get back on top. She has the skill, she should get more critical acclaim this time around (especially since she’s writing/co-writing most of the new stuff), and she’s been more social lately on twitter and seems more willing to let people know more about her.
I really hope they get it right this time around. She’s too damn talented to become further irrelevant.
Leona Lewis is sooooooooooooo love!
