Did you know that Usher has notched more #1 singles on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart than any other artist during the last 20 years?

Throughout his career, Usher scored 12 #1 singles on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs ranking. He even outranks R. Kelly, who is tied with Drake and Jay-Z in second place with 9 chart-topping singles each during the 1992 to present time period.

However, including the previous incarnations of the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs list – starting with the Hot R&B Sides tally in 1958 – no other artist has matched Aretha Franklin’s record of 20 chart-topping singles. In fact, Usher is placed seventh on the overall ranking and fifth among male artists. Stevie Wonder is the leader amongst the males with 19 #1 singles.
