New Video: Jill Scott – ‘Blessed’

Jill Scott is back with a new video and a new attitude. The singer/songwriter, who is known for her sometimes aggressive personality, has released the video for her new single, ‘Blessed’, and she is actually smiling!

‘Blessed’ is the latest single from Scott’s ‘The Light of the Sun’ album, which has yet to be certified gold in the US. However, the song has already climbed to #36 on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. Watch the video for ‘Blessed’ below:

Although this ‘Blessed’ video was clearly filmed with a tight budget, it is still quite good. The references to Gladys Knight & the Pips were fun and Scott looked beautiful, especially in the black gown that probably cost more than the entire production. Expect to see this video in heavy rotation on BET Centric.

   well, damn! i guess it was about time one of my faves gets trent’s treatment…
